Subject: Another update to the Machiela List

Hi all,

I have sent out some quick messages to confirm everyone's email
addresses, thank you for replying to them so quickly. I also heard from
Dawn that her husband is online - welcome, Troy !

I had an interesting weekend in Napier (NZ) with my parents, we compared
notes on the Machiela Family Tree. It turns out his information, which
in some cases dates back to 1750 AD, goes right up to early the 1900's
when a few ships landed in Michigan - his information stopped there, so
I have a ton of extra stuff for him. I have borrowed all his records,
which I'll be publishing on the WWW "any day now".

My sister surprised me also, she pulled out a huge family album with b/w
photos dating to early 1900, showing lots of ancestors etc. At some
stage, I'll scan them all in, and "Web" them also. Watch this space (but
don't hold your breath - if it happens before Christmas, I'll be doing
well). Obviously a lot of these people are Dutch, so perhaps not so
relevant to the American Contingent, but I understand she also has
photos of Ane Machiela, who landed in Michigan with his daughter (in
1909?).

I'm temporarily storing my results on my homepage (see below), but this
will move across to Jan's server, on "WWW.Machiela.Com", where it will
live till the end of time. Or something.

I'm really keen on getting this all set up, and I'm quite happy to do
all the work, however, there's a lot of research that goes into this, so
if any of you have any other information, specifically on Machiela's on
the internet, please drop me a note - I'd be really keen to hear from
any of you, even if it's only to say "Hi".


And, finally, as always, if anyone knows of any other Machiela's online,
please let me know - I'd love to add to the information I have. This
also applies to any other sites, FTP servers, or other Machiela
resources on the internet.
