France Trip 1999 Later on in 1999, I found I had more holiday left than I thought, and decided to get active in the South of France. We organized the trip through a local company called Crux, who leave tons of brochures in my local climbing hall. We ended up choosing the Summer Action Week, which includes rockclimbing, abseiling, canyoning, klettersteig, and rafting. The climbing was the only thing I'd done before, and then only indoors, so we were looking forward to a real adventure week. We weren't disappointed. For the second week, we decided to meander back north through Italy and Switzerland before crossing back into France, and then returning through the Benelux countries again.
